Online Safety Post (May 2013)

Hi there,

Welcome to my 100th blog post of the year! I was trying to think of something important to write about the past few days for my 100th blog post and I decided that I should write about Online Safety.  I hope you stay to read this important post. I also hope that this helps someone reading because I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone and I want all of you to stay safe online. Please read this post or share this post with anyone you think should read my online safety tips and I hope all of you read through all of this blog post. I'm also making a bullying blog post, a link will be provided below this blog post.

Online Safety

  • Wizard101 And Pirate101- Both of these games are very nice games, but even for the best games in the world, you'll still need online safety. Its not hard to stay safe online, you should know that you shouldn't give away your personal information such as where you live (State, town, address), credit card information, phone numbers, your name to a stranger. The things mentioned are meant to stay personal, please don't give away any of your information. If you would like to keep your Pirate101 and Wizard101 accounts, NEVER give away your password and username. If a wizard or pirate says they are going to give you crowns and a membership in return of your account information, its not true. They want to keep your account for themselves and when its all said and over, you'll end up losing your account. Kingsisle warns everyone before they log on not to give away their information, please take their advice and keep your account and continue to have fun on the game(s).
  • Social Networks- If you're younger than 13 please ask your parents for permission if you can enter a social network site before you sign up for one. Its very important that your parents know that you are on a social network, even if you don't want your parents to know everything its very important that they do know you're on a social network. Now for personal information, just as I said above do not give away any personal information such as your address or phone number. I know on Facebook they give you an option for a town/state and phone number but if you don't want it out there on the internet you shouldn't even put it on Facebook. Twitter is different, they don't ask you for your number, and I don't think you should post your phone number or where you live.
This is only 1/2 of the post I was planning on making. I'm also making a bullying blog post which will also be Pirate101, Wizard101 related. I'm also going to add bullying in real life. I really hope you do read this next blog post. I really do like making these posts because someone who needs online safety tips may be reading. I hope all of you are ready for a very long post, the bullying post will be way longer than this post. When the bullying post is published you can click on the image below for a direct link. Thanks for reading this blog post!

Edward continues to side quest through Monquista!

Ahoy Pirates!

I hope yer day is going well, mine certainly is :) I had a chance to quest again today through all of the Skull Island side quests and now I'm in Monquista finishing up side quests. As I said yesterday sometimes its important or good to finish up those side quests. I have received many companion training points and gold from all of my side quests so far. Just about all of my companions are caught up to my level! I leveled through this area on my witchdoctor Edward, I had no idea there were so many quests with companion training points and nautical experience because I sailed right by most of the side quests. This time I'll know to get most or even all side quests through future worlds/characters! Here's my Monquista side questing pictures.
Luis doing an epic attack on a Batacuda side quest!
This should be an easy quest! :)
Experience, Gold and two companion training points!

I've quested a lot more than this through this world, but I only wanted to blog about this quest to show ye that there are great quests out there in the skyways that can level yer pirate or give nice experience. I'm very glad I decided to start on side quests before blogging about my adventures to Valencia. Watch for my next Edward Cringle post since I will be blogging about my adventure and in Valencia. See ye around the Spiral!

3rd Bloggaversary!

Hello everyone!

Around the Spiral with Edward Lifegem has been around for three years! These three magical years have been great, surprising and sometimes difficult. Don't worry about it being difficult because this made me way stronger as a blogger and I'm glad I had difficult times to build up this site. I consider this blog one of my biggest accomplishments and this counts as one from real life. I can't believe that I've been blogging for three years, but I'm glad I continue to blog each year no matter what. This is not my last full year of blogging so I will have plenty of more birthdays! This one is a very special one though, I haven't had a chance to thank all of you for all that you do to make this blog. I'm not the only one that creates this blog, you also create it!

This blog has provided me with so many adventures and made questing through Wizard101 AND Pirate101 so much fun. I love sharing my adventures on the game with all of you wizards and pirates. I'm guessing ye pirates are wondering how I got started on Wizard101 blogging right? Well it all started, well three years ago lol, and I created a blog with a great friend, Mary Dreamshade. We created our blogs out of the inspiration of other bloggers one of the bloggers including our Pirate101 community manager, Tom Purdue. His blog has inspired so many people to create their own blogs. Thank you Tom (Friendly) for everything that you do! I'm very glad I created this blog I have had so many great accomplishments in the past three years that include: helping wizards and pirates with online safety tips, having more great friends, and official Pirate101 Fansite! Thank you all for helping me accomplish those three things and thank you Kingsisle for accepting this site, I know some of my posts aren't "normal" but hey, I'm not normal :P Thank you for reading this blog, I have many more goals and surprises for the future of this blog and all of you are included. I don't want to make this post too long because I want it to remain special. I'll look at this post years ahead but I won't forget anyone who made this blog happen and continue. Thank you for reading my favorite blog post of the year. Make sure to read my other blog posts from years past to see years first and second bloggaversary! I'll see all of you around the Spiral!

Edward Cringle starts Side Questing!

Ahoy Pirates!

Its been awhile since I've blogged about Edward Cringle, I've noticed that I'm actually just about ready for Valencia! Last time I've had a quest was with Fin, after I defeated him I went to Avery and went back to Puerto Mico to receive a quest to defeat wharf rat ships! I'm not going to complete that quest just yet though. I looked through my quest book and I have quite a few quests I need to complete before accessing Valencia.
Edward Cringle getting ready to quest in Dark Jungle
The first I'm trying to complete is Skull Island, I have a lot of quests they I have skipped or haven't finished. I'm glad I'm finally completing these though, I have received a lot of gold, gear and a few Training Points to level my companions! I was out of gold and companion points I'm glad I leveled through Dark Jungle though. I've also battled ships with side quests I have collected and received Nautical Experience!

I had to join a ship battle since my ship isn't strong enough. Completed
the quest though, I'm glad I completed this quest received about 200 NXP
all together from two different quests by sinking these ships!

Sometimes its nice to go back to see what you've missed with side quests, if ye've left out any side quests, you never know what rewards that side quest could have. Ye can get nice gear that you've always wanted or ye could level that one companion that's not far away from leveling with a free companion training point. I hope ye enjoyed reading this post, check back tomorrow for another post. Edward Cringle will quest through Monquista looking for all of those nice side quests, until next time, see ye around the Spiral!

Finish everything up!

Ahoy Pirates!

I'm pretty sure you've heard that the test realm is live and it's being tested for the two new worlds/ books. Books 13 & 14 will be released after everything in the test realm has been tested and when Kingsisle is ready to release. Before this happens, if you're in Mooshu you need to make sure you finish the story line. If you want to enter Marleybone right when the test is released over to the live realm its best to do that.

Random Picture, heal. Ye can keep reading below!
Anyways, I was listening to Talkin' the Plank before the test realm was released and Luke gave advice to all players that were in Mooshu to finish up all quests and not save any experience just finish the quests. Well I was saving quite a few side quests, main quests included. I decided to take his advice and finish up the main quests and I'm actually planning on finishing up the side quests before the test realm goes live. Thank you Luke for giving everyone that advice its very good advice to take if you're excited about the new world(s) and really want to be in it with all of your friends that finished up with Mooshu. Kingsisle added a new way to access your main quest easier by putting it on the first pages of quests, I believe even though they added it its always good to finish those side quests no matter what world it's in. You never know, you may receive a new pet, companion, or gear! I hope you take his advice and finish everything up! See ye around the Spiral!
